COMPANY NEWS
$SMCI Saved By The Bell 🔔
Friday after the bell, news broke that three independent broker-dealers had acquired a 5.3% stake in embattled semiconductor company Super Micro Computer. The company also said it was preparing to file a plan with the Nasdaq exchange to resolve its lack of financial disclosure and avoid delisting. 👍
Today, the company added to its gains after hours on news it hired BDO as its new auditor and submitted its plan to Nasdaq detailing its efforts to regain compliance with the exchange requirements.
In addition to that news, Super Micro is now selling products featuring Nvidia’s next-generation AI chip, Blackwell, putting it in strong competition with Dell and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
The combination of upbeat news helped drive prices higher and get traders talking about a potential short squeeze. Still, Stocktwits community sentiment remains in ‘bearish’ territory as uncertainty surrounds the underlying business. 🐻
While we’re talking chip stocks, Nvidia shares came under pressure following reports of overheating issues with its Blackwell chips. If true, the product would require rack redesigns, causing customer delays and pressuring revenues.
All eyes will turn to Nvidia's earnings on Wednesday as investors seek more clarity about the company’s business momentum. Ahead of the results, cast your price prediction for a chance to win exclusive “Nvidia Day” merchandise. 🎯
