Mid-Cap / Micro-Cap Top Movers of the Week 🐶
Biotech and semiconductors dominated the small-cap leaderboard, but the easy part of these runs is over.
$IOVA ( ▼ 0.11% ) : Iovance, 11 to 6: Raised 2026 revenue guidance to $410M-$420M as Amtagvi demand and treatment-center growth accelerated. Shares held sixth despite a flat week. Risk: The forecast assumes manufacturing and patient throughput keep pace across roughly 100 authorized centers.
$CDNA ( ▲ 1.39% ) : CareDx, 20 to 15: Preliminary 2027 Medicare rates kept AlloMap at $3,240 and lifted AlloSure about 3%, supporting a stock already up 256% this year. Risk: CMS will not finalize the fee schedule until November, and the Naveris acquisition still needs a clean integration.
$MXL ( ▲ 14.99% ) : MaxLinear, 2 to 1: A 15% weekly jump put MaxLinear atop the board as its data-center and infrastructure products kept attracting buyers. Risk: After a 508% yearly gain, the October 22 earnings report has to justify expectations for faster growth and wider margins.
$KOD ( ▼ 4.07% ) : Kodiak Sciences, new at 19: Positive Phase 3 DAYBREAK data moved Zenkuda closer to a wet-AMD filing, but the stock lost 4.1% this week. Risk: Regeneron and Roche already own the market, and Zenkuda’s dosing durability still has to hold up.
$OPTX ( ▲ 12.7% ) : Syntec Optics, new at 23: Shares added 12.7% this week as a Space Force optics order strengthened the defense-and-space backlog story. Risk: The order value was not disclosed, and a recent $20M raise at $7 keeps dilution and backlog conversion in focus.
Next week’s swing factor: FOMC minutes arrive Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. Semiconductors and biotech have plenty riding on whether the Fed’s September hike still looks repeatable.
