7 Stocks Built to Hold Forever. See the Full List.
Chasing the next hot stock can be exhausting, and it rarely builds wealth the way investors expect. The strongest long-term portfolios are often anchored by durable, blue-chip businesses designed to withstand recessions, inflation and shifting market leadership.
MarketBeat’s free 7 Stocks to Buy and Hold Forever report identifies companies across technology, retail, consumer staples, healthcare, networking, sporting goods and utilities. Each offers its own mix of stability, income, growth and staying power.
These are not speculative names built around the latest headline. They are established businesses selected for investors who would rather own quality companies for years than constantly chase the market.

Mid-Cap / Micro-Cap Top Movers of the Week 🐶
Russell small caps still supplied the biggest rank jumps, but $100 oil gave the S&P climbers the real horsepower.
$APA ( ▲ 4.07% ) : APA Corp., S&P 500 #25 to #16: Shares jumped 12.5% as crude cleared $100 and APA’s Q3 preview showed $87.50 domestic and $98.50 international realized oil. Risk: Nov. 5 earnings still have to justify the move, while 7.3% of the float remains short.
$PBF ( ▼ 2.84% ) : PBF Energy, Russell 2000 #23 to #14: The refiner vaulted nine spots despite a 2.8% weekly loss, a sign that the broader momentum field cracked harder. Restored Martinez capacity and war-driven refining margins support the setup. Risk: Those margins normalize quickly if disrupted oil flows recover.
$CDNA ( ▼ 4.01% ) : CareDx, Russell 2000 #19 to #10: CareDx made the week’s other nine-rank leap despite falling 4%, with its Oct. 29 earnings report putting transplant-testing growth back on deck. Risk: With 12.7% of the float sold short, an earnings miss could turn relative strength into a trap.
$ATEX ( ▼ 4.74% ) : Anterix, Russell 2000 #15 to #8: Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Duo now support Anterix’s dedicated 900 MHz private networks, giving utilities a familiar field device and the stock a cleaner adoption story. Risk: Shares still fell 4.7% this week, so that product validation has not produced fresh buying.
$MPC ( ▲ 0.24% ) : Marathon Petroleum, S&P 500 #11 to #6: A 13.2% weekly surge made Marathon the cleanest refiner move as crude topped $100 and diesel scarcity fattened the margin story. Risk: A reported unplanned flare at its 365,000-barrel-a-day Wilmington refinery adds operational risk near record highs.
Next week’s swing factor: Wednesday’s EIA petroleum report will test whether $100 crude reflects genuinely tighter inventories or mostly geopolitical panic.
