Healthcare dominates the Russell 2000 momentum list, but earnings and clinical follow-through will decide which rank gains stick.
$MANE ( ▲ 0.21% ) : Veradermics, Russell 2000 No. 11 → 6: The biggest rank climber gained just 0.2% this week after Monday’s positive Phase 3 results for its oral hair-loss treatment. Risk: Twelve-month safety data are expected later in 2026. The encouraging six-month findings leave longer-term safety and eventual approval unresolved.
$BAND ( ▲ 9.09% ) : Bandwidth, Russell 2000 No. 25 → 22: A 9.1% weekly gain puts Thursday’s Oct. 29 earnings in focus. Its Salesforce Contact Center collaboration supports expansion across more than 25 countries. Risk: Converting that rollout into revenue remains the execution test; results and guidance will help investors judge the opportunity.
$AMN ( ▲ 2.54% ) : AMN Healthcare, Russell 2000 new No. 18: Shares gained 2.5% this week, extending their 204.6% yearly advance ahead of Nov. 5 earnings. Travel-nurse demand has been recovering. Risk: Its third-quarter outlook calls for adjusted EBITDA margins of 6.5%–7%, down from 10.9% in the second quarter, limiting how much improving demand translates into profit.
$MXL ( ▼ 2.79% ) : MaxLinear, Russell 2000 No. 7 → 11: Shares lost 2.8% this week despite 72% quarterly revenue growth. Its push into 1.6-terabit active electrical cables adds another growth opportunity. Risk: Management’s ambition to capture 20%–30% of that market centers on one or two large U.S. data-center customers, making customer wins critical.
Next week’s swing factor: The Fed’s Wednesday, Oct. 28 decision and Thursday’s PCE inflation report will test financing-sensitive biotech and growth stocks, alongside Bandwidth’s Thursday earnings.
