The Weekend Rip
Happy Weekend!

Let's recap and prep you for the week ahead. 📝
Monday 🧬: The market sagged under tech and chip pressure, but single stocks stole the show. A tiny eye-drug developer nearly tripled after Phase 3 results showed patients could go six months between injections. And MongoDB's CEO quit after less than a year to join Meta, erasing nearly a fifth of the database stock's value in a day.
Tuesday 🛳️: Stocks finished mixed as rising Treasury yields kept pressure on the market, even with crude sliding. Fair Isaac plunged after the FHFA moved to put rival VantageScore alongside FICO in mortgage pricing. Carnival jumped after record revenue and a higher full-year outlook gave cruise investors something to celebrate.
Wednesday 📉: Stocks faded into the close for their sixth loss in seven sessions, with a cool PCE print failing to hold an early bid as traders pushed the next hike to December. Micron posted a record quarter and barely budged, the latest sign that beats alone no longer cut it. Liquidia lost more than half its value after a patent ruling gutted its lead drug's commercial reach.
Thursday 📈: Stocks snapped a three-session losing streak even as oil spiked on a U.S. military buildup near Iran. Brent crude jumped to $102 a barrel on reports of a third carrier strike group and 10,000 more troops heading to the Middle East. Mortgage rates posted their biggest weekly jump in four years, hitting 7.28% as the bond rout bled into housing.
Friday 🤩 : Stocks closed broadly higher after weak payrolls cooled October rate-hike bets. The Nasdaq hit a record as AI and growth stocks reclaimed the lead. Hard-drive makers cracked on Toshiba’s capacity plan, while XRP-treasury speculation went vertical.
