The Weekend Rip
Happy Weekend!

Let's recap and prep you for the week ahead. 📝
Monday 🤖: Falling oil and Meta’s Muse brought buyers back to AI stocks. AMD crossed $1T in market value. Warner Bros. rose on a merger settlement, but Paramount closed lower.
Tuesday 🧬: Falling oil eased inflation pressure, but bank losses kept the broader market pinned. Viking’s obesity data put another credible challenger beside Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Royal Caribbean’s reported $6B Sandals gamble landed with a thud.
Wednesday 📉: Yields ripped to a 19-year high and dragged growth stocks down with them, the fifth red day in seven sessions. Fastly soared on its AI investor day targets while McDonald's called sticky inflation the new normal and hit a 52-week low. Alibaba wobbled into Thursday's Trump-Xi summit under the cloud of a data-leak probe.
Thursday 🤖 : Stocks clawed back an early drop and finished nearly flat after a reported U.S.-Iran proposal raised hopes that the Strait of Hormuz could reopen. Bond yields stayed hot, crude hovered near $95, and most sectors still closed lower. Ryan Cohen bought more GameStop, Costco’s beat got little love, and BlackBerry’s car software did the heavy lifting.
Friday 🛢️: Stocks snapped a three-session skid as crude retreated and buyers returned late. Microsoft’s Copilot overhaul put AI back in charge of the conversation. Circle’s CFO exit and fresh PayPal takeover rumors kept the after-hours board busy.
