The market closed in the green on Friday, but bears still won the week as concerns about the U.S. consumer and a potential recession were front and center. 🐻 

Let's recap and prep you for the week ahead. 📝

What Happened?

🔻 On Monday, Wall Street and Main Street slide to start the week after Trump’s tariffs came back into play. Delta Air Lines added to consumer health fears by slashing its outlook, with risk assets like Bitcoin breaking down further. Redfin was rescued by a Rocket Companies buyout and another space stock slipped.

🐻 On Tuesday, the S&P 500 joined the Nasdaq 100 in ‘correction territory.’ Bears broadened their attack as small business optimism plunged and the retail sector ETF $XRT ( ▼ 2.36% ) made 52-week lows. Airlines regained altitude despite industry warnings, while Chinese electric vehicle stocks surged on improving demand.

📊 On Wednesday, better-than-expected inflation readings helped the bulls close the market green. Intel appointed a new CEO and retail stocks like Groupon, Rumble, and iRobot popped back on the radar.

⚠️ On Thursday, stocks slid despite positive inflation readings. February’s producer price index fell MoM for the first time since July, Dollar General finally delivered some good news about its turnaround plan but still warned of a weak consumer.

🔺 On Friday, Trump not mentioning tariffs helped the broader market rebound to end the week on a high note. Quantum computing stocks led the to the upside, Sweidsh BNPL giant Klarna filed its IPO prospectus, and Ben & Emil broke down the craziest market moves in the latest episode of the “Weeeknd Rip.”
